State Bank of India has finally published the long-awaited notification for the recruitment of Junior Associate and Junior Agricultural Associate.The online registration and application process for SBI Clerk 2016 has been initiated from 5 April 2016 and will be open till 25 April 2016. 

Before you straight to the SBI Clerk Application, we suggest you read this entire article carefully as a lot of changes have been made this year in SBI Clerk

Recruitment.As per the notification, the number of vacancies for the given posts is as follows:

·         Junior Associates (Customer Support & Sales) – 10,726.
·         Junior Agricultural Associates – 3008

Eligibility criteria for SBI Clerk 2016

Educational Qualifications:
·         For Junior Associates: Graduation in any discipline from a recognised University or equivalent qualification recognized by the Central Govt.
·         For Junior Agricultural Associates: Graduation in Agriculture or Agriculture allied activities from a Government recognized university/institute.
Note: Those in their final year or semester of graduation may also apply provisionally conditional that they produce proof of passing Graduation Exam before 30th June 2016.

Age Limit (as on 1st April 2016)
v  For both posts, the age limit is not below 20-28 years i.e. candidate should have been born not between 02.04.1988 and 01.04.1996 (both days inclusive).

Selection Procedure & Exam Details
The selection process will consist of:
1.    Preliminary Online Test
2.    Main Online Test
3.    Interview (subject to Govt. of India approval)
4.    Test of Official and/or Local Language

Phase I: Preliminary Exam
The preliminary exam will consist of an objective test for 100 marks will be conducted online. This test would be of 1 hour duration consisting of 3 Sections. There will be sectional and overall cut offs. Candidates approximately 20 times the number of vacancies will be short listed to write the Main Examination.There will be negative marking for wrong answers (1/4th mark will be deducted.)

The questions in objective tests, except for the test of General English, will be bilingual i.e., English &Hindi. The candidates are required to qualify in each of the Tests by securing passing marks, to be decided by the Bank. There will be negative marks for wrong answers in the Objective tests. 1/4th mark will be deducted for each wrong answer. Candidates will have to pass in each of the objective tests.

Phase – III: Interview (subject to Govt. of India approval)
Candidates qualified in the test (main examination) will be placed according to their marks in descending order in respective categories. Depending upon the number of vacancies only certain number of candidates from amongst those who qualify by ranking high enough in the merit will be called for interview in the ratio of maximum 3 candidates for each vacancy. Candidates are required to score a minimum percentage marks (to be decided by the bank) in interview to be considered for final selection. 5% relaxation for SC/ST/ OBC/PWD/XS category will be available thereon.

Test of knowledge of official and/or local language:
Those who produce 10th standard mark sheet/certificate evidencing having studied official (local) language will not be subjected to any Language test. In case of others, language test will be conducted at the time of interview (if interview is held) /before final selection (if interview is not held).

Note: Candidates not found to be proficient in official and/or local language would be disqualified.

Final Selection:
Marks of the Preliminary Exam will not be added towards the final selection. Marks obtained in the Main exam will be added to the marks in the interview (if conducted) when final merit list is prepared.
